About Us

Elliott Law Group, PLLC is a law firm that practices immigration, criminal defense, and personal injury law in both the states of Washington and Idaho. It was established in 2005 and has a main office in Spokane Valley, WA and an additional office in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Recognizing its high quality services and high professional ethics, Elliott Law Group has been awarded an A+ status by the Better Business Bureau.

Elliott Law Group’s team consists of two attorneys and four paralegals and legal assistants. Legal Interns, who are usually students of Gonzaga Law School are always welcome as part of the law firm’s team. Lana Elliott, Kate Karpov and Virsaviya Sidorenko are first generation immigrants, who arrived to the U.S. from Ukraine and Belarus, while Joanna Couch and Yuritzia Martinez are second generation immigrants with their parents being immigrants from Mexico.

Elliott Law Group is proud of the fact that it is able to provide diversified and dedicated legal services, coupled with personal attention to each and every client. They offer professional legal services in several related areas of law, which are: immigration, criminal defense, and personal injury. The decision to focus on these areas of law was made based on the clients’ legal needs. Those needs arise when immigrants face deportation or losing immigration benefits because of criminal charges against them, or when U.S. citizens become involved in auto accidents and are charged with a criminal offense. Elliott Law Group prides itself on being able to handle different types of cases: those, concerning only one area of law, as well as those concerning several areas of law, which interconnect and overlap within the same incident.

Although staying current with ongoing changes and developments of multiple areas of law is more challenging and time consuming, Elliott Law Group’s team is up to the challenge and thoroughly enjoys researching, learning the intricacies of each case, and constantly improving its professionalism to better serve its clients and meet their needs. Its attorneys are knowledgeable, experienced and passionate about helping their clients during some of the most difficult times of their lives. Because they know how important their work is to the lives of their clients, Elliott Law Group strives every day to be the absolute best at what they do. Its attorneys achieve this by creating a unique model of working independently and also in corroboration. Lana Elliott has been practicing immigration law since 2005 and although being well experienced in this area of law, she welcomes every opportunity to learn more and to stay on the top of the ever-changing field of immigration law. She regularly attends American Immigration Lawyers conferences and seminars, both nationwide and locally. Katie Merrill holds licenses in both Washington and Idaho. She works with the law firm’s criminal defense and personal injury cases. To stay on top of changes in law and to find the best ways to present cases, Katie attends a weekly “Advance Sheets” group, where attorneys from different local law firms review the newest case law updates. She also attends many continuing legal education seminars throughout the year.

Besides representing clients who have solely criminal defense or personal injury challenges, Katie also achieves positive results for the law firm’s immigration law clients; especially in situations where criminal defense, personal injury, and immigration overlap. Elliott Law Group’s attorneys believe that by working independently and collaboratively, they can deliver the optimal results for their clients. For Elliott Law Group, assisting its clients to achieve the best possible result is not just a job; their passion is Immigration, Criminal Defense and Personal Injury law.

When asked, “what is the best advice you have for us?” Elliott Law Group’s team recommends that in your search for an attorney, you should find someone who you are comfortable with and trust and who also listens to you and your specific concerns as well as being upfront with you about options, processes, potential outcomes, and legal fees. Also, there is no substitution for experience, both personal and professional.

Lastly, to the question “what differentiates you from other lawyers”: both Lana and Katie suggest “not to take their words for it”, but to check out the reviews themselves. Between two offices-in Spokane Valley, Washington and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Elliott Law Group, PLLC had accumulated more than 150 Reviews from their satisfied clients: real people, just like you. I applied for citizenship the first time, but my husband was previously denied citizenship. We hired Elliott Law Group and both Lana and Kate really exceeded our expectations. My husband and I just got sworn in as U.S. citizens! T.S.

I first hired Lana to help me obtain legal residency for my parents in 2006, then for my wife in 2007. She did a great job and my parents and wife got their green cards. Although Lana is not in California anymore, she still assists with immigration processes for other members of my family. I highly recommend her services to anyone who needs the help of a highly qualified immigration lawyer. S.P.
